NHS - Access our Community Benefit Gateway
Community Benefit Gateway (CBG) is a free and easy to use online service that connects NHSScotland suppliers with third sector community organisations within Scotland.
It supports community initiatives such as:
Work placement opportunities
Volunteering projects
The provision of professional advice
Assistance with building community facilities
Environmental proposals
Improving and promoting biodiversity
Lifelong learning projects (this list is not exhaustive)
In collaboration with Public Health Scotland, the CBG helps improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of local areas and assists in the reduction of health inequalities across Scotland. CBG's purpose is to establish a positive relationship between appropriate suppliers and third sector community organisations through the fulfilment of community needs.

The online community benefits portal matching communities and good causes with suppliers and business in the ESES City Region Deal area.
The Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal (ESES CRD) is a £1.4 billion Scottish and UK Government investment to accelerate growth, create new economic opportunities and meaningful new jobs that will help to reduce inequalities. Visit About to find out more.
Funded by the Deal, this website allows community groups and good causes to submit requests for “Community Benefits”.
Community Benefits are the method by which local communities and good causes are encouraged to receive additional social value from the supply chain of businesses delivering publicly funded contracts and developments.

Hinrichsen Foundation
Funding is available to support organisations and individuals undertaking projects to promote music, particularly contemporary music, in the UK.
There are two levels of funding available:
One-off small grants typically between £500 and £3,000.
Multi-year partnerships (only accepted in the May funding round).

This fund aims to support organisations with a focus on making art available for public benefit and emerging talent in the arts throughout the UK - most grants range between £1,000 and £25,000.

Music for All - Community Project Funding

William Syson Foundation
Grants of up to £5,000 are available for charities, voluntary groups, and not-for-profit organisations to support the advancement of the arts, heritage, and culture in Scotland. This includes, but is not limited to music, the visual arts, theatre, and literature.

Creative Scotland - Youth Music Initiative CPD and Training Fund
Funding is available for individuals and organisations who work with children and young people on out-of-school music projects in Scotland to undertake training and professional development opportunities. The funding is intended to support individuals, organisations and networks to undertake training and continuing professional development that will strengthen youth music in Scotland for the benefit of young people. Training and CPD should deliver the following outcomes:
People delivering youth music develop their skills and confidence.
The development, strengthening and increased sustainability of the youth music sector.
The provision of increasingly high quality, efficient, innovative youth music services.
Awards to individuals will typically range from £100 to £1,000, while awards for organisations will generally range from £500 to £5,000.

Awards for Young Musicians
Grants of £100 to £2,000 are available for the UK's most talented young instrumentalists in any genre, aged five to 17 years of age who, because of financial need, may be prevented from fulfilling their creative potential.

BFI National Lottery Audience Projects Fund
Grants of between £20,000 and £200,000 are available to support various audience related activities in the UK, including film festivals, distribution releases, multiplatform distribution proposals, touring film programmes, large scale and ambitious film programmes. Applications are accepted all year round but must be submitted 16 weeks before the start of any funded activity.

Creative Scotland – National Lottery Open Fund for Organisations
Grants of between £1,000 and £100,000 are available to projects lasting up to 18 months for constituted artistic, creative, or cultural organisations across Scotland to deliver a variety of creative projects and activities and enable business changes or development projects that make the organisation more financially sustainable. Foundation Scotland - Cockaigne Fund
Grants of up to £5,000 for charities, unincorporated organisations and individuals involved in classical and traditional music, with emphasis on community initiatives.

UnLtd - Awards for Social Entrepreneurs
Funding and specialist support are available for UK social entrepreneurs to help them develop as social leaders, and to start up or grow their idea for a social venture. The following levels of funding are available:
Starting Up - funding of up to £8,000 for social entrepreneurs with an idea for a venture which has not yet been established, or which has been running for less than a year.
Scaling Up - funding of up to £18,000 to grow an existing social enterprise that has been operating for between one and four years.
Together with funding, award recipients will be assigned to one of UnLtd's dedicated programmes to provide support aligned with the needs of their social venture for up to one year.

Shackleton Foundation Grant
Seed funding grants and support are available to inspirational leaders and early stage social enterprises in the UK to establish their own non-profit ventures with the potential to provide solutions to intractable social problems faced by disadvantaged and socially marginalised young people.

Pentech Ventures
Venture capital is available to UK businesses in the area of software development. Pentech invests in teams who believe they can build a category leading software company. Areas of interest include: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; Big Data; Infrastructure such as Blockchain; and verticals that are enabled via the efficient use of AI and new infrastructure approaches, such as FinServ, Health, and Enterprise Transformation. Initial investment is likely to be £500,000 to £2 million, with up to £10 million invested over the lifetime of the investment.

Access to Work
Financial assistance is available to help organisations in Great Britain with any extra employment costs that result from employing a person with a disability.
Access to Work provides grants to employers towards extra employment costs which result from an employee having a disability. The programme aims to provide practical advice and support to disabled people and their employers, in order to overcome work related obstacles which result from disability.

Kaleidoscope Investments (Ki)
Kaleidoscope is aimed at giving financial backing to help disabled entrepreneurs in the UK start their own business. The fund will assist in the development of the businesses it invests in and ensure they make a worthwhile return for investors.

LaunchMe
LaunchMe is an accelerator programme for ambitious, social enterprise start-ups in Scotland. Henry Smith Charity - Holiday Grants for Children
Grants of up to £2,800 are available for schools, youth groups, not-for-profit organisations, and charities to provide access to one-off recreational trips or holidays for groups of children aged 13 years and younger who experience disadvantage or disability and live in an area of high deprivation.

Scottish Children's Lottery Trust
Grants are available for registered charities in Scotland to support projects and activities that benefit vulnerable children, young people, and families most at risk of poverty. The funding is intended for projects and activities in Scotland that help to alleviate the impact of poverty, financial hardship, social exclusion, relative/multiple deprivations, and disability or illness among children, young people, and their families.
In 2025, three levels of funding will be available:
The Medium Fund (opening March 2025) - Grants of up to £10,000.
Small Fund (opening September 2025) - Grants of up to £5,000
Bright Futures Fund (opening September 2025) - The maximum grant has not yet been confirmed.

Challenger Children's Fund
Small grants are available to help meet the needs of physically disabled children (under the age of 18) in Scotland. Grants of up to £750 may be considered. More may be granted in exceptional circumstances. A high rate for DLA mobility would generally be looked for when considering applications. The Trustees will consider awarding money for a range of essential items, so long as they are for the direct benefit of the child named on the application form. Applications must be sponsored by one of the following: Social Workers / Health workers.

Adamson Trust
Grants for voluntary and community organisations and charities to help with the cost of holidays or respite breaks for disabled children (aged 3 to 17 years) with physical, mental, or emotional impairments. Applications are accepted from individual families and on behalf of groups of children, registered charities and other organisations.

Veterans' Foundation
Grants are available for small and medium-sized charities and not-for-profit organisations that provide support to those in need among serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families across the UK. The following grants are available:
Small grants of between £500 and £5,000.
Standard grants of between £5,001 and £30,000. This can be for one year or a multi-year grant for up to three years (eg, £10,000 per year over three years).
Salary grants up to £25,000 per year for up to three years, for the exclusive use of salary costs.
Major grants of between £100,000 and £200,000 spread over one to three years. (Currently closed).

Empowering Bereaved Military Families Programme Grant
The Empowering Bereaved Military Families Programme is provided and administered by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. This programme will offer a single portfolio grant of up to £1.8 million, to achieve long term, transformational change in the non-statutory support provided to bereaved military families. The grant is available towards a project being delivered over a period of up to four years. The project should start by Autumn/Winter 2025. It is anticipated that elements of the project will run at varied paces and timeframes during the duration of the grant. This programme has a two stage application process. The deadline for stage one Expressions of Interest is midday on Wednesday 2 April 2025.

Family Fund Trust
Grants are available to help families, or groups applying on their behalf, in the UK who are raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person up to the age of 18 years.
The Trust believes services to families with severely disabled children are most effective when they can be adapted to families' individual needs and personal ways of coping. The Trust, therefore, encourages families to demonstrate the kind of support that would best meet their needs in easing the stress of caring for severely disabled children.

Happy Days Children's Charity

Children’s Alliance
Grants are available to not-for-profit organisations across the UK to give children and young people under the age of 18 access to water for learning, developing and playing. The Happiness Fund
Grants are available to support grassroots, neighbourhood-based community projects in the UK which improve mental health and wellbeing, inclusion, and learning and skills development in local communities. Matrix Causes Fund
Grants are available to UK charitable organisations promoting access to justice, equality of opportunity or sustainability. abrdn Financial Fairness Trust
Grants are available for strategic work, including policy work, campaigning and research, which has the potential to improve financial wellbeing at a national scale in the UK, especially for those on low-to-middle incomes. Eligible projects include:

Improving practice and design.
Evaluations of existing initiatives that have not been evaluated. The grant can be used for project costs and for ongoing costs, including staff salaries and overheads.

Robertson Trust's Community Spaces Fund
Funding is intended to support the running costs of local community centres, hubs or anchor organisations that are delivering and/or hosting a range of services and activities in places with high levels of deprivation. Examples of eligible work include:
The running costs of an accessible community hub based in a town with high levels of deprivation. The hub hosts and delivers services for local people, including community meals, family activities, a yoth group and drop-in sessions with partner organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and local employability service.
The running costs of a village hall in a rural community where there are no other community facilities. The hall hosts a range of groups and services, such as a parent and toddler group, a food pantry, and warm space, and provides access to IT facilities.
Grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 per year for up to three years are available to registered charities working in Scotland. Organisations should demonstrate the various services they deliver and/or host related to preventing or reducing poverty and trauma for local people.

Royal Countryside Fund – Supporting Rural Communities
The UK-wide Supporting Rural Communities grant programme launched on Friday 10th January 2025.
This new differentiated funding will support transformative, community-led initiatives across the UK, unlocking the huge potential for positive change in rural communities. The aim is to support innovative solutions that will “power up, not prop up” communities, inspiring change and encouraging economic vibrancy.
Organisations can apply for grants of up to £25,000 over a period of 24 months to deliver activities along the themes of:
Keeping young people in the countryside
Powering up rural communities
Increasing environmental sustainability
Building emergency resilience in rural areas.
Support will be focused on isolated rural areas where the activity is required due to a lack of alternative services. Projects must be community led and show that they actively listen to, understand and respond to the needs of their local community. The fund is also looking for community organisations that demonstrate one or more of the following characteristics:
Working towards a long-term vision
Facilitating collaboration/connectedness
Demonstrating innovation.

Scottish Community Alliance - Community Learning Exchange Fund
The Fund aims to facilitate peer to peer learning exchanges for community groups in Scotland with the overall objective of improving the capacity and resilience of the community sector. National Lottery Awards for All - Scotland The National Lottery Awards for All programme is a partnership between The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland, Sportscotland and Creative Scotland.
For arts and sports projects, applications can be made for up to £10,000 supporting projects for up to 12 months.
For community-led projects (that are not primarily arts or sport focused), applications can be made for up to £20,000 per year supporting projects for up to two years.
Groups can only hold one National Lottery Awards for All grant at a time.

The individual grants programme aims to support motivated adults living in the UK to undertake education and training that will increase their chances of employment.

The Finnis Scott Foundation
Although the Trustees may make grants for any charitable purpose, their current policy is to focus their grant making in the areas of:
Horticulture (gardening) and plant sciences.
Fine art and art history.
The Trustees are keen to support horticultural training through bursaries and apprenticeships. Applications should be made by the sponsoring institution: individuals may not apply. Grants are not offered for covering usual salary commitments nor for expenditure already incurred.

The Mushroom Trust
This fund aims to support the creation, enhancement, and upkeep of green spaces throughout Scotland. This includes both the creation of urban spaces, such as public parks, community gardens and allotments, as well as other environmental and conservation projects, such as ancient woodland restoration projects.

Pets Foundation - Rescue Centre Grants
Grants are available for charities and non-profit organisations in the UK whose main objective is the rescue and rehoming of domestic pets in the UK.
The Pets Foundation provides three grant programmes:
Rescue Centres – to support organisations whose main activities are the rescue and rehoming of UK pets.
Pets Assisting People – to support organisations whose main activities are one or more of the following: o The provision of temporary or ongoing assistance to ensure pets can remain with their owners, where rehoming takes place only when it is not possible to reunite the pet with their owner.
Changing the lives of adults and children through the provision of animal-based activities or practical assistance.
Preventing Pet Relinquishment – to support projects that aim to keep pets with their owners and out of rescue.

Plug-in Vehicle Grant (PIVG) Scheme
As announced by the Chancellor at the Autumn Budget, £120 million will be provided in 2025-26 to support the purchase of new electric vans via the Plug-in Vehicle Grant and to support the manufacture of wheelchair accessible EVs. The amount of the grant depends on which category the vehicle is in.

Exchange Market
A pilot funding scheme rewarding arable farmers in the UK for reducing emissions within their supply chains through tailored, verified plans. Farmers can join Exchange Market by having a completed Exchange baseline and a recent Farm Carbon Toolkit assessment. The Soil Association Exchange will then work with applicants to create a verified emissions reduction plan. With annual payments based on verified results, the programme ensures transparency and accountability at every step. Farmers in the scheme can earn up to £60 per tonne of carbon reduced annually, with 50% of payments provided upfront to support their transition.

International Tree Foundation - UK Community Tree Planting Programme
The UK Community Tree Planting Programme supports projects run by community groups and voluntary organisations that engage communities in planting and caring for native species of trees. Grant applications for the 24/25 season are now open

Esmee Fairbairn Foundation - Grants
The minimum grant size is £30,000 and available to organisations doing legally charitable work in the UK that focuses on the Foundation's funding priorities of improving the natural world, securing a fairer future, and strengthening the bonds in communities in the UK.

Family Action - Welfare Grants Programme
The Welfare Grants Programme is aimed at people who already receive means-tested benefits but still need a little helping hand to afford basics or replace essentials like a broken washing machine. Margaret Dobson Further Education Trust - General Grants
A small number of grants are available to small UK registered charities working to support people with a learning disability to learn skills to help them live more independent lives after they leave formal education. Maximum value £5,000. Priority will be given to applications from projects which additionally meet at least two of the following criteria:
Designed for, and aimed, at people with learning disabilities aged 18 to 25 outside the school environment.
Those age 16+ who are not in formal education, training or work will also be considered.
Have been adversely affected by Covid-19 and its implications.
Offer the opportunity for people to gain transferable life skills, which may include how to access support.
Offer employment experience.
Build in accredited training.
Enable social interaction with other people and allow self-expression and confidence building.

Richard and Siobhán Coward Foundation - Grants for Community Photography
Grants are available to support the provision of participatory projects in the UK which seek to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people under 25. The use of photography must be a core element of the project.
The funding is used to support projects including those which might be a single workshop or event, or a programme of linked activities and might involve working with the participants solo or in groups. Grants of between £500 and £1,500 are available.
Examples of activities that might be included are:
Outings with a photographer to learn how to take pictures of people or landscapes using digital or analogue film.
Dark room experiences.
Creating images using techniques such as cyanotype or pinhole cameras.
Learning printing techniques using a range of media.

Kellogg’s School Breakfast Club Grants Programme
Kellogg’s, is accepting applications for the Breakfast Club Grants Programme. Grants of up to £1,000 are available to schools across the UK to help fund breakfast clubs aimed at pupils between reception class and year 13 to ensure that those who need it most receive a morning meal. Only one grant per school in each academic year is available.

National Lottery Community Fund - Fairer Life Chances (Scotland)
Grants are available to voluntary and community and public sector organisations in Scotland for projects that support children, young people and families, or help people to be healthier and have better access to support, with a focus on those experiencing poverty, discrimination and disadvantage. The Fund is intended for projects working to achieve the following objectives:

Hargreaves Foundation
Grants are available for charities and educational institutions that support those under the age of 18 years, and living with a mental health condition, disability or growing up in poverty through the mediums of sport and education. The Foundation aims to distribute a total of around £2 million in grants per year. There is no minimum or maximum grant size.

Trefoil – Lilias Finlay Holiday Fund
Trefoil offers holiday grants to children and families who meet the development needs criteria.
Applicants for holiday grants should be under eighteen years old and living in Scotland. Trefoil only funds holidays in the UK and does not support overseas trips.
Applications for holiday grants are open and considered all year. Please apply at least 12 weeks before your holiday. Your applications should be supported by two references.
