Introducing the Free VCEL Locator
Discover and map useful services across the region with the VCEL Locator. Maintained and updated by us, the VCEL Locator already features over 700 services from more than 600 organisations. Each entry includes, where available, the service and organisation names, a description and type of the service, and contact details such as phone, email, and website/social media links.
Our Aim
The VCEL Locator aims to promote the services provided by third sector organisations across the region by detailing them on a free-to-access website and mobile app. It is also being used to map community resilience services, helping those in need easily identify what is available locally. We also invite our Statutory partners to add their services to support partnership working and collaboration.
Get Involved
Voluntary and community organisations, charities, social enterprises, and any other third sector organisations, and statutory partners can upload their services via VCEL to appear on the map. It’s free to do so, and you can list as many services as you deliver – it’s a service map, not one mapping organisations. To upload, edit, or delete a service on the Locator, use this simple form: Add/Edit Your Entry.

How it Works
Upon visiting the homepage, you’ll be presented with a map displaying various third sector services from our database that operate in East Lothian. A random selection of services is shown, and each entry can be expanded to reveal more information, including contact details, website, and geographical location, if available.
To find a specific service, simply use the keyword search panel. All results matching your search phrase will be displayed as both a list and as corresponding pins on the map.
For a more refined search, you can use the Advanced Search feature. This allows you to search by Location and Category of service. You can select any combination of options, and the results will be displayed both as a list and on the map.
To initiate a new search, simply hit the refresh button.
