A session to discuss the work of SCVO’s Fair Funding and procurement subgroup, in particular our Fair Funding asks & principles and shape SCVO’s policy asks ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections.
Description
Over several years, SCVO has developed and advocated for a package of asks and principles that they know would drastically improve the funding landscape for voluntary organisations in Scotland – Fair Funding.
Those Fair Funding asks were and continue to be developed through wide engagement with SCVO members and the wider sector, listening to experiences, gathering evidence, and fine-tuning policy asks that would deliver tangible, positive change.
That work has seen some great progress in recent years. SCVO’s asks have been echoed by a multitude of organisations across the voluntary sector and have led to some substantial parliamentary developments, such as the recent Social Justice & Social Security Committee’s budget scrutiny focus on voluntary sector funding, and the Scottish Government’s own commitment to Fairer Funding by 2026.
But at this crucial point, with the Scottish parliamentary elections just over a year away, SCVO wants to refresh and re-energise those specific Fair Funding asks, engaging with the sector to ensure that what they’re asking for still reflects the reality on the ground.
Join SCVO to learn about their Fair Funding asks and share your views on that work and issues relating to procurement more widely.
Who is the event aimed at?
This event is for anyone working in the voluntary sector with an interest in funding and/or policy.
