Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness Training

Who is this learning for?

The course will raise awareness and support professionals, parents and carers to understand how children and young people become involved in child sexual exploitation (CSE). It aims to promote an understanding of the impact, the child/young person’s experiences and how best to respond and protect those affected.

 

Are there any pre-requisites for attending this course?

Applicants must have previously completed Level 1 Child Protection Awareness Raising and Response training (either through Learnpro, or a virtual or face-to-face session).

What are the Learning Outcomes?

·         Be able to explain the key terminology and definitions in relation to CSE

·         Have an understanding of models of CSE

·         Have an understanding of risks and vulnerabilities of CSE (including on-line exploitation)

·         Be aware of strategies available to support young people affected by CSE

·         Have an understanding of grooming and patterns of control

·         Be able to recognise the importance of information sharing and multi-agency partnership in responding to children and young people

 

How will the training be delivered?

This training will take place on MS Teams.

 

How do I apply?

You are required to seek your manager’s approval, ensure that you are available on the day, and that you have protected time to attend before enrolling. You can then apply by completing the enrolment form   Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis.  The closing date for booking on this course is 12th January 2024. Applicants will be notified shortly thereafter if they have been allocated a space on this course.
