New Local Housing Strategy - 3rd Sector Engagement Dates

The LHS is a strategic document which every local authority must prepare every five years. The document sets out how the Council and its partners plan to address housing issues and demands within East Lothian. The document will cover all tenures and will look at a range of topics from the demographics of the county to the issues the county is facing such as fuel poverty or the varying housing needs/options of different groups within the county.

The East Lothian Council will be holding a series of consultations and engagement events. These will run between February 2022 and August 2022, aiming to have a draft LHS in winter 2022. The consultations will provide you with the opportunity to shape the document by providing your opinions and ideas.

Also hosting a series of themed workshops for professional stakeholders during April 2022. These will all be held online, and are detailed in the table below. If you’d like to sign up to attend, please email lhs@eastlothian.gov.uk . For organisations who don’t feel that they ‘fit’ into a theme, there are general ‘inequalities & housing’ workshop which is also listed below.
