Latest Funding & Resources

National Funding in Relation to COVID-19: Four national funds have been set up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Third Sector Resilience Fund - Applications for Phase 2 currently remain open. This fund is to support organisations across the third sector who are at risk of closure due to a sharp decrease in income or that are unable to deliver their services during this difficult period

  • Supporting Communities Fund - To support the rapidly growing and inspiring community efforts at a local level. You cannot directly apply to the Supporting Communities Fund. Working with partners the Scottish Government continue to identify where funding is being deployed and where it is still needed.

  • Wellbeing Fund -  Currently Closed.

  • National Emergencies Trust: Applications will reopen from 3rd August. The National Emergencies Trust (NET) has launched a fundraising appeal to help those most affected by the recent coronavirus outbreak. Foundation Scotland will manage the fund award in Scotland.

Independent Grant Funding: SCVO has pulled together a list of independent grant funds that are available to third sector organisations in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. 

Charity Bank List of Emergency Funds: The Charity Bank has pulled together a list of emergency funding that is available for charities and social sector organisations across the UK in relation to the COVID-19 response.

Support for businesses: Business Gateway are producing a helpful list (updated daily) of support available - It includes info on all business funding and grants made available to help businesses during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. 

Funding for homeless organisations: Homelessness organisations affected directly by COVID-19 can now apply for funding of £5.5million in the second round of grants distributed by Homeless Link.


Response, Recovery & Resilience Fund
Foundation Scotland's Response, Recovery & Resilience Fund is now open for applications. Whilst the first phase of funding focused on meeting communities most immediate needs, the fund is now focusing on Recovery.

Grants from £1,000 to £5,000 are available.

Supporting communities to tackle climate change & biodiversity loss
Volunteering Matters Action Earth funding is now open. Any group of 15 or more volunteers can apply for £250 to help make a difference outdoors through planting/habitat building projects.

New £150k Fund for Scotland’s Coastal Communities
A new fund designed to support local regeneration and sustainable development around Scotland’s coastline has been launched by Crown Estate Scotland.

Aviva Community Fund
The Aviva Community Fund delivers funding and support all year-round. Every three months we split £250,000 among our UK employees to donate to the projects that matter to them most.

Applications for eligible causes are open.

Firstport: Pounds For Purpose
Small £500 awards for individuals aged 16-26 looking to make a positive change in the issues that matter to them.

Pounds for Purpose funding is to help you get your idea up and running and will help you cover some of those costs.  Plus, we can provide business support if you decide to turn your idea into a business.
