Join in on the Power of Youth Day (Tuesday 6th June)

Power of Youth Day is the annual opportunity to say THANK YOU to all the children and young people who are working to make positive change in their communities every day.

Our stories are our superpower. When we tell stories about the experiences that matter to us, we create valuable insights into the things that create positive social change. Your story really matters. That is why our theme this Power of Youth Day is – ‘This is Me’.

Join with us on Power of Youth Day and share your experience of youth social action and help to deepen the impact of youth social action across the UK.

Our Youth Befriending service is delivered throughout East Lothian to young people aged 8 to 16 years.

Our Service is dedicated to supporting and improving the lives of young people, they may:

•        Live with a sibling who needs additional support

•        Have chaotic lifestyles or homes

•        Be socially isolated and lonely

•        Not attending school

•        Receive support from CAMHS or mental health services (or are on wating list)

We aim to have lots of fun and choice in activities while fostering a culture of healthy self-respect, positivity, increased self-confidence, and motivation.

We hope to bring positivity and nurture young people that are experiencing very difficult and challenging lifestyles.

The new addition to our service is LEGENDS……..lived experience young people who have received the support of our service who are now shaping the way we move forward.

These Legends now help support our Summer Session Activities Programme. They have helped organise & budget for the sessions happening in the Summer Holidays, which they also take part in. Who else to support young people but young people who have been them!!!! Young People talk to young people. The best way to show you care is ACT!
