Honour-Based Abuse Free Learning Event
Monday 28th November 2022, 11am to 12pm, by MS Teams
Honour based abuse is one of the forms of gender based violence. It particularly affects women and children from black and minority ethnic communities (BME). This is a great opportunity for all staff who come into any contact with children, adults and families in their day to day work to learn about honour based abuse. This session will help you understand what honour based abuse is, how to recognise the signs and the risks and how it affects BME women and their children. We will also look at how we can work together to protect survivors from honour based abuse and promote their well being and human rights
This session will be delivered by Shakti Women’s Aid, the specialist agency that provides support services for survivors of honour based abuse in our areas. No need to book just click here to attend. East Lothian and Midlothian Public Protection Committee.
