Summary: The Reach programme is suitable for charities can demonstrate they address disadvantage or social exclusion and will reach the most vulnerable people across Scotland, to provide them with opportunity and equality and making positive, sustainable change. For disadvantage, examples include charities addressing primary disadvantage such as homelessness, abuse, mental health or poverty, or secondary disadvantage such as debt issues, learning disabilities, illiteracy, lack of employability skills or health issues. For social exclusion, examples include charities addressing exclusionary challenges for minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT people, drug users, institutional care leavers, the elderly or the young.

Covid-19 Residential Outdoor Education Centre Recovery Fund

News: The Scottish Government has announced a further investment of £2 million that will provide financial support in the form or grants and/or loans to residential outdoor education centres that have been affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
Summary: In response to the continued impact of COVID-19 on residential outdoor education centres, The Scottish Government has announced a further investment of £2 million for a Covid-19 Residential Outdoor Education Centre Recovery Fund for 2022. The fund will provide financial support in the form of of grants and/or loans to residential outdoor education centres that have been affected by restrictions. The funding aims to keep outdoor centres in business – allowing them to continue to benefit current and future generations of learners – and allow centre staff to support outdoor learning in schools and other formal education settings where appropriate. The fund can support: - Essential non-staff running costs - Staff costs integral to the continued operation of the centre as long as these costs cannot be met by other income streams (excluding national insurance and pension contributions)

The Prince's Countryside Fund - Supporting Rural Communities

Summary: The Prince’s Countryside Fund provides grants for projects from across the UK which are working to create resilient rural communities. This fund will support community-led projects that are pursuing innovative and strategic solutions to the challenges facing their rural area and improving the long-term viability and resilience of their community. Successful projects will do one or more of the following: - Support people to resolve existing and emerging community issues, circumstances, and priorities - Build rural community resilience - Develop innovative and replicable projects - Enable leadership and community planning Successful projects will demonstrate how they are addressing one or more of the following objectives: - Improving the economic or social resilience of a UK rural community - Reducing isolation for people living in rural areas through improving service provision - Creating a rural community fit for the future.
