16 Days of Activism

16 days is an annual international campaign which starts on the 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. From Global to Local, there will be a series of events and media communications in East Lothian and Midlothian to raise awareness of the issues and seek commitment to action to tackling violence against women.

The theme for the launch event is What next? and is focusing on involving men and boys in tackling gender-based violence – there will be an event on MS Teams on Friday 25th November with four speakers who will bring different perspectives on the issue. The MS Teams Link will follow shortly but, in the meantime, save the date in your calendar, please promote this widely, print off the save the date flyer and post it in your staff room or office, and tell your colleagues and teams about this event!

Please send this on to your teams, networks and organisation and get in touch with us if you want to become involved!
